Home Theater Projectors
For the show, Sony introduced a few significant upgrades to their flagship 4K projectors. Lenses for better focus were added to the VPL-VW995ES as well as additional lumen capabilities to offer higher contrast and brightness ideal for rooms with ambient lighting. On their VPL-VW695ES projector, they improved its high dynamic range as well as motion clarity and smoothness. Creating a greater flow of motion is particularly useful when using projectors to watch sporting events.
Sony 8K and 4K Televisions
For their televisions, Sony promoted their flagship 4K and 8K Master Series models available in sizes up to 98 inches. All Master Series TVs include advanced picture processing for magnificent color, contrast and clarity. In conjunction with Sony Pictures Entertainment, the TVs calibrate precisely for select content to mirror the creator's vision. Do you want a home theater design with a small technology footprint? Crafted within a slimmer frame, Sony's Bravia TVs are an excellent fit for more streamlined installations.
Enhanced Surround Sound
On the expo floor, the display images stole everyone's attention. That doesn't mean Sony forgot how important the audio is to a successful home theater design. Not only did they introduce a new AV receiver featuring Dolby Atmos and DTX:X three-dimensional sound, but they also added to their soundbar lines. Ideal for smaller theater or media room installations, the HT-Z9F and HT-ST5000 soundbars offer 3.1 and 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos configurations respectively.
Crystal LED Displays
As long as we can remember, the choice during a home theater installation has been between a projector-and-screen installation or going with a flatscreen display. Sony is looking to change that with its brand-new Crystal LED display system. Although traditionally used in commercial applications for engaging video walls, this modular display technology is making a move to the residential space.
Large-screen TVs come with high heat, power and cost requirements while projectors are prone to issues with ambient lighting. The Crystal LED system lets you add modules as needed to go as big as you want in your home theater without sacrificing quality in the least. Enjoy larger-than-life images with million-to-one contrast, high frame rates, specific color renditions and low heat emission.
