ATF’s Brand-New Facility Empowers Veterans With Life-Altering Injuries

21st Century Audio Video Partners with Imagine That AV and Design On New Adaptive Training Foundation Facility

At 21st Century Audio Video, we always are committed to helping the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex community any way possible.

Recently, we proudly participated in a local project dedicated to enhancing the community. We were inspired to join a project led by Luke Dixon at Imagine That Audio Video and Design to help veterans in the area.

Together we donated and installed custom commercial audio video technology throughout Adaptive Training Foundation’s brand-new fitness center, set to open on April 7 in Carrollton.

As passionate believers in ATF’s mission, we are grateful to have participated in the project and to have the opportunity to support a noble cause within the Metroplex community.

What is the Adaptive Training Foundation?

Back in January 2014, former NFL athlete David Vobora met U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, a quadruple amputee, and began personally training him in David’s home fitness center.

Over the next eight months, David met more of the veteran community and became passionate about training veterans with life-altering injuries, delivering customized workout plans for each person.

It led to the creation of his Adaptive Training Foundation, which was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in September 2014 to give permanently disabled individuals a dedicated rehabilitation path to adapted sport.

To this day, ATF empowers veterans and others with life-altering injuries through fitness – and it all started in David Vobora’s home gym.

Our Involvement in the Project

We first heard through Dixon that ATF planned on expanding and building a brand-new fitness center right here in the Metroplex, and it was a no-brainer to join in: We would be honored to be involved.

We gladly donated both time and commercial audio video and automation technology to complete the project, which will showcase the nation’s premier 18,000 square-foot training facility devoted to individuals with severe physical disabilities. You can learn more about the facility in this video:

We got some amazing help from vendors including Snap AV, Middle Atlantic Racks, Digital Projection, Sonance, Wave Electronics, Universal Remote Control, and Goo Systems technology for a state-of-the-art audio/video system that showcases modern projection features.

The project includes a couple 204" screens, 20 in-ceiling and pendant speakers, Luma surveillance cameras and almost 8,000 feet of wiring.

We featured Access Networks to build a contemporary network infrastructure for ATF’s employees and customers, dedicated to delivering high-speed wi-fi and internet access.

And we used Universal Remote Control to integrate the technology throughout the brand-new fitness center so that the ATF team easily can control the devices within their new facility.

Our team is proud to have been involved with ATF’s construction of its new fitness center. We immensely look forward to April 7, the day the organization takes its first step into its future of helping those with life-altering injuries acquire regained fitness and new sporting abilities.
